Description:
String sandal. The sole is formed by a thick string that was plaited and then coiled flat and bound together. Round the edge of the complete sole is a series of short strings, each of them doubled and twisted to leave two loops at the top. The strings are gathered in two groups around the heel and the toes and through the loops two thick string were pulled which were drawn tight to fasten the shoe firmly. The heel and toe are reinforced by additional bindings of string.
