Comments:Published PDF date : Date uncertain Room 95 label text:PDF 98Jun glaze test pieceThis test piece was used by potters to assess ideal kiln temperatures and glaze recipes. Where the Jun glaze runs thin towards the edge, it becomes semi-transparent to olive green. Compared to contemporary Northern Song celadons such as Ru and Yaozhou wares, Jun wares have relatively coarse stoneware bodies. Jun wares are characterised by opalescent blue, purple or occasionally green glazes.Stoneware with opalescent blue glazeJun ware鈞窯Yuxian, Henan province 河南省, 禹縣Northern Song to Jin dynasty, about AD 1000–1234 PDF
