Description:
Sample: embroidered imitation of folded silk star design. The design is similar to As2005,0731.32. This sample shows five and a half squares containing star designs. The designs are embroidered mainly in green silk thread with pink, red, and white accents. The half star is finished which blue and yellow in replacement of white and green respectively. Borders of bright blue and dark green braid are embroidered with running stitch line of white and red thread. The embroidery is sewn onto six layers of backing fabric, a top layer of black fabric, onto which the star design embroidery is sewn and this fabric is occasionally visible from the front of the piece. Behind this is 2 layers of off-white stiffened fabric, 2 layers of stiffened black fabric and 1 layer of dark blue/ grey fabric, through which the border edges are sewn.
