Description:
Sample:showing preparation for edging stitching. This sample is similar to As2005,0731.36 and demonstrates the next part of the creation process. Folded silk technique is used to create the pattern. The colours of the silk fabric include; green, purple, yellow, red, black, and a strip of gold metallic foil. The silks are sewn onto white fabric and off-white paper backing. A paper piece has been sewn along one long side with large tacking stitches in black thread in preparation for the edge stitching. The paper is stamped on the back with the date 1980.3.9 and two chinese characters.
