Comments:Transferred unnumbered from Oriental Dept. in 1979; registered in Ethno.Dept. as “Q79As.54”. Ethnography Dept. “Q”-Register simply states “HM the King” – info taken from a label apparently with the saddle at time of transfer.Possibly the saddle mentioned in list of Tibetan material given by Dalai Lama to George V in 1913 and deposited on long-term loan to BM in the same year.See correspondence C.Griffith (Royal Collections) and Ethno.Dept. staff in “Royal Collections” Secretariat file.
