Comments:Registration slip: ‘Presented by Dr. W.G.K. Barnes, R.N. 3rd March 1896. China. Rattle with handle of bamboo. The sound is produced by the beating of a small slip of bamboo against a paper tympanum stretched a circular aperture a performation in the body of a fish of dried clay painted a bright magenta colour. Made at Yau-ma-ti near Kowloon Peninsula.’
