Comments:This decorative print with pots of flowering fragrant plum blossoms, peonies and roses is full of symbolic allusions and auspicious motifs. The delicate plum blossoms that bloom in the first frosty months of the year stand for enduring hardship. Together with the bamboo and the characters for long life written on the central pot they symbolise the wish for longevity and old age. The magpies are harbingers of happiness, good news and spring. The magpie on top of the plum branch has the meaning of ‘happiness up to the eyebrows’.
