Comments:The Mustard Seed Garden Painting Manual, named after an estate in Nanjing, was published in 1679 by its compiler Wang Gai. This print was taken from a later edition of part 1, which introduces landscape compositions after famous masters. It was printed using two or three printing blocks with varying tones of black ink. The landscape in the shape of a round fan names the famous Ni Zan (1301–74) as its source of inspiration.
