Comments:The Muban Educational Trust (MET) is a registered charity dedicated to the research, collection and promotion of Chinese woodblock print and printmaking. The annual MET woodblock printmaking award completed its third year in 2018. The award is for young printmakers of Chinese nationality who graduated from undergraduate and postgraduate printmaking courses in China. The award winners and one shortlisted artist from 2018 have offered to donate examples of their works to the British Museum. These works showcase current techniques and experimentations in woodblock printmaking in China. Liu Jing was born in Hunan Province in 1983. He graduated from the Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts with a BA degree in 2006. He obtained his MA degree from Shenzhen University in 2012 under the supervision of the artist Jin Baoping. He is currently a Lecturer at Changsha Normal University. His Masters series combine digital technology with woodblock printmaking. His works won second prize in the 2018 MET woodblock printmaking award.
