Description:
Plate. Coat of arms of Stocker. Made of porcelain, decorated in underglaze blue and enamels with a pattern of linked rectangles on the rim, and crests “a parrot verte”; with an enamelled coat of arms in the centre, “Gyronny of six azure and argent three parrots vert,” with the crest “A parrot vert.” The coat was granted to Stocker, Lord Mayor of London in 1484. The name is a West country one with families in Somerset and Dorset.
