Description:
Plate. Crest of Page of Gosport in Hampshire; “A demi sea horse assurgent” ; it is probable that the unusual “spray” of underglaze blue on which the crest is painted, on the rim, is meant to indicate this. Sir Gregory Page of Greenwich was a director of the East India Company and created a baronet in 1714. Made of underglaze blue and ‘imari’ design enamelled porcelain.
