‘Famille rose’ plate with figures from Roman mythology. It shows a bearded god seated in a landscape, naked except for some rose-pink drapery, holding a casket which contains a winged putto, while another putto is rushing off on a cloud, playing a drum. Overhead a goddess is approaching in a peacock-drawn chariot, surrounded by several winged beings, under a rainbow.

Comments:Harrison-Hall and Krahl 1994:This scene is a symbolic representation of the element Air and depicts Aeolus, the Roman god of winds, which are symbolized by putti, one of which has been let loose while another is still kept at bay. In the chariot above is Juno, the wife of the highest Roman god, Jupiter. Like the previous design, this scene has been discussed by Albani in correspondence with his client, where he explains that the element Air has traditionally been symbolized by Juno.
