Description:
Plate. Coat of arms of Peers. Made of enamelled porcelain. The invoice for this service, dated 10th Decr. 1731 is still in the possession of the family. The arms, with crest on the rim, are those of Peers of Chislehampton Lodge, Oxfordshire, “Sable a chevron between three lions’ heads erased argent, a chief or”; crest “A demi griffin segreant, wings addorsed, argent”. Three branches of flowers in cartouches and a crest on the rim, with the coat of arms in the centre.
