Description:
Octagonal plate. Coat of arms of Campbell of Inverneill. The arms are of Campbell, frequently quartered by the lymphad of Lorne. Here the coat is displayed on the sails of the ship of Lorne, “Gyronny of eight or and sable a crescent for difference, the shield placed in front of a lymphad, the sails furled and oars in motion sable, flags and pennons flying”; crest, “A boar’s head erased or”; an inscription. This service was made for Sir Archibald Campbell, 1st of Inverneill, a few years after another service with the same arms and inner design. Made of enamelled porcelain. Overglaze blue enamel border.
