Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:It was made for a Mme Zhang and was placed in her tomb to testify that she and her relatives had legally acquired and paid for her burial plot. Officials of the underworld kept painstakingly detailed accounts of all births and deaths and the degree of detail is included to give full account to these bureaucrats of the non-living world. This type of land deed is not unique. A blue-and-white epitaph tablet dated 1632, fifth year of Chongzhen, has been unearthed from another tomb near Jingdezhen.
