Description:
Fragmentary relief plaque showing the Buddha. He is shown seated against a vesica bordered by lotus petals. His legs are crossed, the eyes closed and the hands ,which are covered by the folds of his garment, are held in meditation position (dhyāna mudrā). The fragmentary head is surrounded by a halo and has strongly elongated earlobes. The figure was made of yellowish clay using a mould and was covered with a white slip before being fired.
