Description:
Quatrefoil ivory plaque carved with the coat of arms of Rijzik and Schippers. The two coats of arms are contained within an heraldic device, surmounted by two angels blowing trumpets. To either side of the main decoration are ornamental leaves and shells.

Comments:Jacob Rijzik was a captain of the VOC in the 1750s and died in 1792. He married Anna Schippers before 1750. The identical arms and design are found on an export dish of the same period in Mottahedeh Collection.
