Period:Unknown
Materials:wood
Technique:painted
Dimensions:Height: 50.90 centimetres Width: 19.20 centimetres
Description:
Oblong wooden panel, painted on both sides. Side a: The decoration consists of the depiction of two persons in two registers. The upper register shows a bearded man seated cross-legged before a mandorla and on a cushion with scales (?). He is holding a longish object in front of his upper body with both hands. His long robe is made of black cloth and has broad decorative hems made of red fabric. The man wears large round earrings and a headdress decorated with round ornaments. The painted decoration of the lower register is much faded and many of the pigments have flaked off. Shown is a man sitting cross-legged in before a mandorla. He seems to be wearing trousers and a bright red tunic with broad hems made of dark red fabric. In each hand he holds an unidentifiable object. His headdress is decorated with round ornaments and he wears large round earrings. Side b: Details are hard to recognise as most of the pigments have flaked off. The upper register shows a man wearing an armour and a helmet. He is sitting cross-legged on blue cushion with a flower pattern and before a mandorla. The lower register shows a male person wearing red trousers and with a bare (?) upper body. The man seems to be holding a spear in both hands and is sitting cross-legged on a dark red cushion with a flower pattern.
