Negative (black and white); Monk dancers in a ceremony at Tengoling Monastery near Gyantse on the 10th day of the 5th Tibetan month 1927. The courtyard is surrounded by onlookers who watch events from every vantage point. The photograph seems to have been taken from the first floor balcony of the main building of the Monastery [see BMH.D.55.1-57.1 for images of this setting], where Hopkinson and his companion Capt.
