Negative (black and white); View from near Champithang in the Chumbi Valley looking north towards Rinchengong, the last village in Tibet before the border with Bhutan. Hopkinson travelled this route on a number of occasions as he had to pass through Champithang on his way to Gangtok and Kalimpong in Sikkim. However, this photograph may have been taken in February 1927 from evidence on the negative. Rain clouds can be seen gathering over the low hills in the centre of the image. Tibet.
