Colonel Bailey was in 1927 Political Officer of Sikkim, Bhutan and Tibet and was Arthur Hopkinson’s immediate superior. The Bailey’s visited Yatung in August 1927 and this photograph was taken on August 16th when the Depon (now Dzaza) Miru Gyalwa invited them to lunch at his house in Pipitang. Tibet.
