Negative (black and white); A wall painting in an alcove along a path near Gyantse. The alcove has apparently been carved into the rock and then supported with timbers and a stone base. An unknown Tibetan man hoists a protective matting cover aloft to reveal the painting beneath. Rai Sahib Wangdi, who probably by the time this photograph was taken (if post-1927) had received the honour Rai Bahadur, can be seen on the left of the image. Tibet. Photographic process
