Negative (black and white); A Khampa trader stands in front of a whitewashed mani wall, identified by Mrs Hopkinson as being situated between Gyantse dzong and the town [see Notes]. He is wearing a fur-lined chuba and hat. A woman stands in the background with a spindle in her hands, while other onlookers are cropped out of frame [see BMH.F.22.1]. Wall paintings and inscriptions can be seen around the wall on the right hand side. Tibet. Photographic process
