Description:
Devil mask (with bear figure). Face made of black and ‘hat’ made of red wool woven cloth (with nap). Eye sockets and mouth piped with pink and green satin silk cloth; edge of face piped with red tabby cotton cloth. Applied round white ceramic (?) buttons; single cowrie shell at end of nose. Beard made of rabbit (?) fur. Lined with natural cream tabby cotton cloth; padded. Metal strip to keep hat ‘flap’ upright.
