Description:
Longquan-type porcelain vessel of archaic bronze jue form, with two columns standing up from the flattened rim, standing on three tapered legs. The vessel has grey-green glaze. There is a key-fret band below the rim, and a floral relief moulded on the centre of the interior. There are inscriptions on both sides of the body.

On the side it has a relief inscription which reads 龍泉縣 儒學祭器 (Longquan xian ruxue ji qi ‘ Longquan county, sacrificial vessel for Confucian studies’). On the other side is an apocryphal inscription 弘治四年三月立(Hongzhi si nian san yue li ‘Set up on the third month of the fourth year of Hongzhi’ [AD 1491]). This cup was probably made at Longquan but in the Republican era.
