Description:
Porcelain ovoid jar and cover with underglaze blue decoration. This ovoid jar has a short neck with a thickened rim and a flat cover; it stands on a foot ring. It is decorated in ‘kraak’ style with four panels around the neck framing peaches and flowering branches of other varieties, surrounding which are maize diaper and white flower heads and vertical stripes in between. Around the body, birds are shown flying in a landscape with the Three Friends of Winter: pine, prunus and bamboo. The cover is decorated with further plants.
