Description:
Wucai painted globular jar with a flat unglazed base and short neck. On either side it is drilled for the attachment of handles and probably originally had a cover evidenced by its unglazed rim inside. Baby boys wearing yellow bibs, bracelets and ankle bangles with hair tied in top knots are shown holding the stems of giant peony flowers. Around the shoulder is a band of spirals and blue and red pointed petals adorn the neck.
