Covered porcelain jar with domed cover and round knop. Underglaze blue with wide band of scrolling long-stemmed flowers between bands of lotus panels. Large lotus leaf on lid painted in two shades of blue and knop painted to resemble flower bud. There is an inscription on the base.

After 1530, the palace no longer sent officials directly to supervise the kilns. Local officials and members of the Board of Works then alternated that role.
