Comments:Rawson 1992:The Longquan kilns were amongst the earliest to reproduce the shapes of bronze vessels in ceramic. The fine colour and unctuous texture of Longquan glazes, reminiscent of jade, lend the pieces a double reference to early ritual objects. Longquan altar vessels were used in Japan and Korea as well as within China, where they were probably favoured by scholar-officials.
