Description:
This small famille-verte painted porcelain leaf shaped covered box is surmounted by a lioness with her cub and a taper-holder behind. It is pierced at one end through the cover and base for a pin to pivot the lid open. Inside is a chrysanthemum in black enamel and the sides of the box are decorated with a floral scroll. The base is unglazed.
