Comments:Jones 1990Chinese ritual vessel (hu), 6th-5th century BCChinese ritual vessels became known in Europe only after the seventeenth century, when trade with China had brought not only porcelain but textiles and curios of every kind to the West. It is therefore unlikely that this bronze was excavated from the medieval Dane John at Canterbury as Henry Willett claimed.
