Description:
A man’s (?) hat with conical crown. Made of red felted cloth. Upturned brim; segemented at front with brocaded silk cloth (gold metal-wrapped thread on purple satin silk ground) applied to front section; scalloped shape to back. Piped at edge with (much damaged) yellow satin silk cloth. Lower part lined with natural cream tabby cotton cloth. Upper part lined with shattered silk cloth, revealing paper beneath.
