Description:
A man’s hat; conical, with red dyed yak (?) hair. Made from coiled and woven (plaited basektry) bast material (rattan?) with red, long stapled hair (yak?) partially glued to sides. Top has domed silver (?) base [‘finial’ / ‘button’ missing]. Hat lined with red tabby cotton cloth and same cloth used to form padded head band and straps.
