Description:
A layman’s hat; winter wear; upturned brim covering crown with flat top. Crown made of overlapping brocaded lilac silk cloth with stylized floral motifs worked in gold metal-wrapped thread. Oval-shaped blue glass ‘finial’ / ‘button’, with domed silver (?) metal with blue jade (?) cylindrical pendant attached to middle top. Padded (with cardboard?) brim covered with pieces of cream leather (vestige of light brown fur). Inside of brim lined with blue damask silk cloth. Inside of hat lined with red tabby cotton cloth.
