Description:
A man’s hat; conical, with upturned brim. Made from four segements of navy blue woven wool cloth. Padded with white felted wool (visible at bottom edge). Endless knot (macramé) at top, with fine pink/red silk tassels at sides. Brim (padded with cardboard?) made in two equal sized sections, linked with two domed brass buttons and black cloth loops (four in total). Openings and top edge covered with blue floral silk brocaded cloth (gold metal-wrapped cloth on satin silk ground). Hat lined with red twill cotton cloth (lower) and a coarser brown tabby cotton cloth (upper).
