Comments:The thinly worked tubular piece with oval cross-section has two uneven ends; at one end with the back edge sloping down to the lower front edge which has been damaged and the other end cut straight. Neolithic – Hongshan culture. See Rawson 1995, p.116, cat.no.1:3. This is a rather short example of a well known type of Hongshan jade, a fuller form of which is represented by no.573 [2014,AsiaLoan,1.51]. It is oval in cross section and consists of a ring, much taller on one side than the other, making an inverted hoof shape. One corner is damaged, where part of the flawed stone has fallen away.
