Fragmentary clay figurine of a monkey. The animal is shown holding something, maybe a musical instrument in China known as paixiao (排簫/排箫), to its mouth. The paixiao is a kind of pan pipes. The monkey’s legs are missing, details such as fingers and eyes were rendered using incised lines.
