Porcelain ewer and cover with green glaze. This ewer has a square lower body which stands on a square foot ring, a globular upper body and a narrowing waist which joins these two sections together. It has a long straight handle and a straight spout with a bent tip which is attached at the neck with an S-shaped strut. The domed cover has a bud finial. The ewer is made of high-fired white porcelain and is covered with a broad-bean (grey-green) glaze.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:This form of ewer is quite unusual, but bottles of a similar shape are known from the Jiajing period. Its body is pure and white and not at all like the grey body of Longquan wares from Zhejiang. It is quite likely that it was made at Jingdezhen, inspired by earlier Longquan celadon glazes.
