Description:
Porcelain ewer with overglaze polychrome enamel decoration. This ewer has a pear-shaped body, a dish mouth and a low tapering foot. Its spout is supported by a strut with curlicue terminals and its straight handle is ribbed down the centre and has a loop attachment to secure a lid. One dragon is painted among ‘ruyi’ clouds, chasing a flaming pearl on its hind legs, another on its front paws. Above each a flower-and-cloud motif adorns the spout. A six-character Wanli mark is incised on the base.
