Comments:The irregularly rounded cushion-shaped earrings with flattened undersides have straight slits leading into bevelled conical perforations. Neolithic. Diameter 40mm. See Min Chiu 1990. Neolithic, possibly south-east China, c.4000BC-3000BC. The rings in this pair are slightly flatter versions of no.574 [2014,AsiaLoan,1.98]. Their three-dimensional form is somewhat flattened on the top and underside, the central holes have been worked from both sides and the slits are cut straight. They resemble jue of the Majiabang culture. See Rawson 1995, p.121, cat.no.2.2.
