Comments:There is a list of descriptions of the subjects inserted in the front of the album. This drawing is described as: “32 A female peasant & a mandarins servant. This head dress is common with the female peasantry, being a lock of leather japanned & edged with silver, thro’ which the hair is drawn & secured by bodkins.
