Description:
Dish. Coat of arms of Downes (there is an earlier service, Qianlong c.1740 with identical arms and motto), painted “or a bugle horn proper”; crest, “A stag couchant argent”. Motto: see inscription. The Downes family of Cheshire and Essex both bore the same crest. Made of enamelled porcelain.
