Comments:Published PDF date : Ming Wanli 1573-1620 Room 95 label text:PDF A772Dish with on-the biscuit decorationMing emperors appear to have favoured bright, colourful, schemes for their buildings, costumes and furnishings. Potters fired most of the Ming and Ming style porcelains twice. This dish painted with dragons has colours applied directly to the biscuit-fired porcelain body. This lends the enamels a darker hue than those first coated with a layer of glaze and fired before the enamels were added and the piece was fired again. The base has a six-character iron-brown Wanli reign mark.Porcelain with incised and on-the-biscuit green, yellow, aubergine, turquoise and black enamelsJingdezhen, Jiangxi province 江西省, 景德鎮Ming dynasty, Wanli mark and period, AD 1573–1620 PDF A772素燒胎彩繪盤明代皇帝似乎偏愛在其建築、服飾及家居中使用明亮的和色彩豐富的搭配組合。
