Surrounding this, spreading over the cavetto and rim, are three octofoil cartouches outlined in green and red enamel, containing a ‘qilin’, a lion and a dragon with a ‘lingzhi’ fungus body, depicted in black, yellow, aubergine and green. In between these green ‘ruyi’ clouds grow out of the rim, outlined in black on a red ground. The base is marked with an underglaze blue square seal mark which reads 富 贵 佳 器 ‘Fu gui jia qi’ [Fine vessel for the rich and honourable].
