Comments:Rawson 1992:The lobing is also seen on many high-fired ceramic shapes, although Ding ware more than any other imitated the forms of silver. The most evident feature is the thickened rim, which has been copied in a Ding dish also in the museum (BM 1947.0712.61). An article entitled ‘Old Chinese Silver. Collection on view at British Museum’ in The Times, Wednesday 19 May 1926 (p. 13, issue 44275, column F) refers to 15 pieces, said to have been found in Pei Huang Shan, near Sianfu, Shenxi (Beihuang Shan, near Xi’an, Shaanxi), on display in the Asiatic Saloon.
