Description:
Porcelain dish with moulded and incised decoration under a monochrome red glaze. This shallow dish has rounded sides, an everted rim and a low foot ring. Inside, beneath a cloudy pinkish-red monochrome glaze (see BM 1936.1012.107), the dish is incised with three ruyi clouds in the centre and with moulded five-clawed stocky dragons separated by individual ruyi clouds in the cavetto. These dragons have closed jaws, long whiskers and horns and their scales are indicated by circular dots. The base is unglazed but treated with a brown dressing.
