Porcelain dish with flat base and upturned flaring sides. The dish has colourless glaze. There are five-clawed dragons and phoenix incised and painted in iron-red enamel on the interior and the exterior. There is an inscription in red enamel on the base.

The base carries a five-character inscription in seal script in a square panel in red enamel on the base. This reads光啟堂楊製 (Guangqi Tang Yang zhi ‘Made for Yang of the Hall of Enlightenment or Illuminated Learning’).
