Comments:Published PDF date : Southern Song 12th-13thC Room 95 label text:PDF 208Bowl with impressed seal markThis bowl is shaped with a five-lobed rim. The way the glaze has been applied suggests a metal rim. The lobes are further defined inside the bowl with trailed slip lines. In the centre it is impressed with a seal mark. The vessel is covered with a pale olive-green glaze. Such low quality celadons were commonly exported across Asia in the Southern Song (AD 1127–1279) and Yuan dynasty (AD 1279–1368). This bowl may have been made in the Longquan region but as such marks are rarely seen there it could have been made at another southern celadon kiln.Stoneware with impressed seal mark and pale green glazeSouth-eastern China
