Comments:Harrison-Hall and Krahl 1994:This design is very common in early Chinese export porcelain made for the Dutch market and exists also with an underglaze-blue border. An identical example is in the Musees Royaux d’Art et d’Histoire, Brussels, Belgium (Jorg, 1989, pl.76); a dish with blue border is in the Mottahedeh collection (Howard and Ayers, 1978, vol. I, pl. 127). The design also appears on a somewhat later Coromandel lacquer chest of drawers (Hervouet and Bruneau, 1986, no.7.33). However, the European print from which it derives has not yet been identified.
