Description:
Porcelain dish with monochrome yellow glaze. This saucer-shaped dish has a depressed centre and a tapering foot. It is covered inside and out with a well-worn glossy vivid yellow glaze. The slightly convex base is marked with a six-character Zhengde reign mark in a double ring.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:Numerous other examples of this type of dish survive in public and private collections. Two identical dishes are in the Eli Lilly Collection in the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Similar dishes are in the Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art, London, the private Koger collection and the Gulbenkian Museum of Oriental Art and Archaeology, University of Durham. This type of yellow glaze is often well-worn.
